Karina and Christina off to see Houdini

Here are a couple of shots of Karina and Christina during our San Francisco trip. Every day was a new adventure with my girls. This day we went to the Contemporary Jewish Museum to see a great Houdini exhibit. The museum is often lovingly referred to, in short, as the JuMu. Catchy. The exhibit was very well presented, and turned out to be facinating, particularly the wall-long blown up murals showing Houdini suspended from a tower, or leaping off a bridge, all wrapped in chains with padlocks. Pretty clever fellow.

Just for ole timey sake we drove from San Francisco to the campus of UC Santa Cruz, Christina's old stomping grounds. The campus is quite spread out and beautiful, but the view from the top overlooking the land down to the Pacific is breathtaking.

A Walk in the Redwoods

Oh those magnificent redwoods! Even trees big enough to stand up in, and to my surprise I saw a big fat yellow slug inside one. Areas just carpeted with green everywhere. Ducks in a pond lined up on a small log. An old rail trestle. A soul enriching day with my girls.

An Afternoon at the De Young Museum

One of my favorite places to spend a day in San Francisco is at the De Young Museum, and the stunning grounds and art surrounding the museum structures.

Dark Garden

Christina and Karina were chosen to model some of the fine, and extremely expensive recreated vintage lingerie at the Dark Garden Corsetry shop in San Francisco. This photo shoot was for a future catalogue. We had such a great time. The shop is right next door to one of the branches of Blue Bottle Coffee, THE upscale coffee company where Christina works.

Victorian Houses and Wall Murals

Karina and I flew to San Francisco to spend some wonderful days and evenings with Christina. San Francisco has always been such an interesting city, and continues to evolve and change even over a hundred years after the big earthquake in '06. Here are some of the still standing Victorian houses and buildings, a strange contrast the wall art one sees just about everywhere.
