Mike and I are flying back to Sequim tomorrow. It will be wonderful to be back and see family and friends, though we are not looking forward to the rain. Both of us have mixed emotions about leaving our Mulege home. The water temp has just risen to a bit over 70 degrees, and we know in a week or two as the temp rises even more, that we will start to get reports of fabulous fishing. Our garden next door is so amazingly beautiful that everyone who walks by on the river road stops to admire it, asking us questions or compliment us if we happen to be outside. The peony poppy seeds I planted are just getting ready to bloom. Boy I wish I could be here to see that. In between the poppies are the snapdragons. My favorites are the multi-colored ones. Mike took photos of the tiny grapefruits and their blossoms. The tree gives us seedless pink grapefruit, sweet as can be. One season here without a hurricane has been an enormous benefit to all of our trees and plants, as you might imagine. In fact, we cannot get over how healthy they all have become over the last six months. Much of this has to do with Mike's loving care of his garden. He IS the farmer! Our lime tree had lost a huge branch, but now it is absolutely covered in blossoms and tiny limes. The new casita is coming along smoothly now that the new steel roof is nearly completed. In fact, Jesus has already begun to tile the shower with some pretty light green tile we purchased in Santa Rosalia. That will be followed up with a pretty border tile, floor tile, on and on, but will be totally finished for Mike's Man Trip in May. Anyhoo, out of here tomorrow, a night in Seattle and home to Sequim Saturday.
