My New Scarf

Last time Christina visited me she inspired me to start knitting, something I really hadn't done much other than a few little items. This week I finished my new wool scarf. I look forward to wearing this on cool mornings when we head out fishing at dawn. I was able to bring my knitting down here on the plane, but they won't let me taking knitting needles BACK. Isn't that silly?

El Candil fundraiser for new animal clinic

Since our beloved Lorraine is not coming back to Mulege, we have no local gringo animal clinic. This is an essential thing here with so many stray cats and dogs. Scotty of El Candil's held an all day all evening money raising event. After all was said and done they raised $12,000. Enough to get the project started, so that's great news for everyone here. We ended up with a couple of interesting pieces of art to decorate our walls. Mike tried on a silly hat.

Cardinalitos

We had fun spending a few hours watching the little kids (age 11 and down) playing baseball at a lot past the mission. They had Mexican music blasting so loud we couldn't hear each other speak, then the minute someone came up to bat, they turned it off. Then on again until the next player came up. Really fun.

Cread Mexican Windshield Wiper

We had to shoot a photo of this....the Cread is the drug/alcohol rehab group down here. This is a photo of one of their vans. Guess donations are pretty slim these days. Check out their windshield wiper.

Ho Hum Another Sunrise

This is what we get every morning down here....not too bad.

Scarecrow Dressed Up

Yesterday Mike and I drove up to the highway, glanced to the right, and saw that our neighborhood scarecrow had been completed...check out prior blog photo only waist-high. Now he has been finished!
