Halloween in Mulege

I went into town for a few things, and when I came back Mike was all dressed up as Captain Hook. He had split the back of his jacket, but was wearing a Mulege t-shirt with a map of Baja on the back, so it was kind of cool, and looked like a treasure map. We made an appearance at Junga Jim's. Only a couple of people there, but Gary and Tracy showed up. Gary was a great clown complete with his squirting flower hat and camera. We all piled back home for soup and French bread to wait for the kids. We were really surprised that only a dozen kids showed up. Mike did a decent job of scaring the kids with his arrgggggg move, and brandishing his mended sword. It snapped in half when we packed the car for the trip down here, but I scored two popsicle sticks, so those along with a bit of duct tape did the trick. Last year we had tons of kids, but the part of the river road from town to the little gringo community next to us, the Orchard, is GONE from Jimena. That might have had lots to do with the lack of kids here, but we had also heard the churches were telling everyone Halloween is the work of the devil, so just don't know. We had a blast anyway.
