Brinnon BMW Incident

We booked a fly fishing trip, and were so excited about it. My very first time fly fishing, but first we had to get to Portland, Oregon for Mike's 46th high school reunion, and we wanted to visit Ray, Sarah and the twins, too. We loaded the BMW with our suitcases, planning to leave the car at the Portland airport when we flew to Missoula after the reunion. All went well until we were going through Brinnon on the Hood Canal, and Mike ran over a full one gallon can of gasoline. He thought we could clear it, (and naturally thought it was empty), but the car has a very low profile, and the can burst open, and got stuck under the frame of the car. Gasoline was spewing all down the road behind us. As Mike said, we were leaving a fire trail behind us. All it needed was one spark. I'm was yelling, "GAS, GAS", Mike pulled over, and we jumped out of the car running off a little distance from our disaster area. Ranger Mike called 911, and a few minutes later what appeared to be every emergency and aid vehicle in the Brinnon area show up, sirens blaring, and all. They managed to dislodge the gas can, all ended well, but we won't be running over any more red things in the road in the future.
