Just around June 1st our peacocks, Bob and Shirley, hatched four pea babies, or peachicks. Before we returned to Sequim from Mulege one of the babies had died, apparently having gotten under Bob's feet. They were so tiny, and all looked exactly the same. We read it could be months before we knew if we had males or females. The babies follow Shirley closely, and anyone getting near the coop gets quite the display of Bob's protective nature.
